b.well Backend Update (10/28/25)

At b.well, we are committed to consistently enhancing our platform to improve usability and enrich the end-user experience. We've recently implemented several backend improvements aimed at refining the logic we use to clean and normalize data. These updates are designed to enhance the clarity and consistency of the information presented to users without altering the way our clients interact with our products. By addressing subtle inconsistencies and optimizing data presentation, we aim to support more effective medication management and provide a more intuitive experience. Below are the specific enhancements we've made:

Smarter Medication Grouping

What changed: Upgraded our medication grouping logic using enhanced NDC to RXNORM conversion

Why it matters: This technical improvement reduces duplicate medications appearing across different medication groups. This creates a cleaner, more organized medication list and more logical and intuitive medication groupings.

Improved Medication display names

What changed: Medication names now follow a consistent, consumer-friendly format.=

Why it matters: Previously, medication names appeared inconsistently, some all in lower case, others in TitleCase, creating a confusing and unprofessional experience. Now all medication names have standard capitalization, making them easier to read at a glance. Additionally, more user friendly brand names are included where available.

Examples:

Before: “linsinopril” or “Lisinopril” (inconsistent)
After: “Lisinopril” (consistent Title Case)
Before: “cyclobenzaprine”
After: “Flexeril also known as Cyclobenzaprine (Oral)”

Enhanced Medication Status Accuracy

What changed: Medication status is now calculated using improved logic to provide more accurate status indicators.

Why it matters: Users can now trust that their medication list accurately reflects which medications are currently active versus those that have been discontinued. This helps prevent confusion about which medications should be taken.

Status types:
Active: Medications currently being taken
Past: Medications that have been completed or discontinued

More Complete Provider Information

What changed: Provider names are now displayed for more medications across the platform, filling gaps where prescriber information was previously missing

Why it matters: Knowing which doctor prescribed a medication is essential for managing care, especially when working with multiple providers. This enhancement ensures users have a better context about their medications and can now more easily coordinate their care.
